PTFE Fabric

Can withstand outdoor exposure and repeated folding.

PTFE thread is woven and then coated with PTFE resin to produce a self-reinforced, waterproof fabric with high strength and tear resistance. The fabric is chemically inert, colorfast, and resistant to UV light, acid rain, saltwater, and other environmental challenges.

Applications for PTFE fabric:

The fabric is used in architectural applications such as:

  • Façades
  • Canopies and shading systems
  • Air-inflated structures
  • Retractable fabric roofs, such as those used in sports stadiums

More information:

It offers light transmission of up to 38%, which is higher than that of many other architectural fabrics. Additionally, the fabric can withstand repeated folding without compromising its structural integrity, which is an issue for competing fiberglass-based materials.

The fabric can be sewn, or welded by high-frequency welding. It has a 15-year warranty and an expected lifespan of 25+ years. The standard colour is white. There are two variants - one transmits 20 percent light and the other 38 percent.

The sample you get:

You receive two different variants of the material: one with 20% light transmission and the other with 38% light transmission.

You can choose between a small sample measuring approximately 8 cm × 8 cm or a larger A4-sized sample (210 × 297 mm / 8.3 × 11.7 inches).
