High-Density Polyethylene Sample (HDPE)

A low-cost, easy-to-process plastic with excellent durability.

Polyethylene is the most widely used plastic.

There are two types of polyethylene: Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). They differ in the molecular structure, where the HDPE has a more linear structure with little branching, resulting in molecules that pack closely together.

HDPE is strong, rigid, and durable; LDPE is softer, more flexible, and less dense.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a versatile, durable thermoplastic known for its high strength-to-density ratio. HDPE is widely used in a range of applications—from water pipes and plastic bottles to industrial containers and geomembranes. Its resistance to impact, chemicals, UV radiation, and moisture makes it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. HDPE is lightweight, yet strong, making it easy to handle and install while maintaining excellent performance under demanding conditions. It is also non-toxic and food-safe, making it suitable for packaging and food storage. Additionally, HDPE is fully recyclable, contributing to its popularity in sustainable manufacturing practices.
