Adhesion Interface Layer - Strengthens the bond between metals and plastics

€12.00

An adhesion layer of under 100 nm in thickness is applied to metals to significantly strengthen adhesion to plastic. The layer is formed in a wet chemistry process that produces a strong chemical bond to the metal. The plastic can be attached by injection moulding or casting, or by chemically dissolving the surface of the plastic before mating.

Used for:

The adhesion layer is used in applications requiring a very strong bond between metal and plastic materials. The technology can also allow the bonding of materials that were previously difficult or impossible to combine. It can also be used to improve the adhesion of plastic coatings on metals.

Details:

After application the invisible coating is dry and mechanically stable.

Idea:

Lower the weight of components by bonding wear-resistant metal parts to lightweight plastics.

The sample:

The sample is a 35 mm x 35 mm acrylic (PMMA) plate attached to stainless steel.

All samples come with a laminated information card, which includes contact details for the supplier.
