Product category: Process
Multi-Material 3D Printing - Creates 3D models with both rigid and flexible features.
This 3D printing process uses inkjet technology to print thin layers of photo-polymer, which are immediately cured by UV light to a solid material. The 3D printer can mix two photo-polymers with different properties, and thereby fabricate more than ten different materials in a single print job. The ability to adjust the material properties during printing eliminates the need to design, print, and glue separate model elements together.
Used for
It is used for prototyping complex parts, such as rigid structures with soft over-molding effects.
Details
The stiffness of the materials ranges from rubber-like (see "TangoBlk+") to tough plastic (see "VeroWhite"). Tolerance ranges from 20 µm to 200 µm depending on geometry, model size, and material.
