Oxygen Scavenging Plastic - Removes oxygen from within food packaging

€10.00

This plastic contains an additive that absorbs oxygen from its surroundings and stops oxygen from diffusing through the plastic. The additive is activated by moisture so it works only in moist environments.

Used for:
Oxygen scavenging plastic is used mainly for sealed food and drink packaging; it removes oxygen inside the packaging and thereby increases the shelf life of perishable goods. It is used for meal trays, soup containers, sealed food pouches, bags for bag-in-a-box containers for wine, and pet food containers. It can also be used for packaging of perishable medical supplies, cosmetics, and cleaning products.

Details:
The additive can be used with most plastics for food packaging. The active material in the additive is fine iron particles that react with oxygen (oxidise) as the oxygen diffuses into the plastic. One gram of the additive can absorb up to 35 cm³ oxygen.

Idea:
Make special bags for cut fruit for children's lunchboxes to keep the fruit fresh all day.

The sample:
You can't see or feel the additive in the sample.

All samples come with a laminated information card.
