Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) - Clear, tough, and flexible plastic material.

€12.00

EVA plastic is a copolymer (consisting of two different monomers) of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It shares many properties with low-density polyethylene, but it has increased gloss and flexibility.

What is EVA used for:

EVA is used for food packaging, footwear midsoles, solar panel encapsulation, mouth guards, ice cube trays, and flexible medical tubing. It is also used as the basis of many hot-melt adhesives.

Details:

The properties of EVA depend on the chain length (molecular weight) and the vinyl acetate content – which varies from 10 to 40 percent – with the remainder being ethylene. Increasing the ratio of vinyl acetate improves optical clarity, flexibility, and toughness, but also lowers the stiffness and melting point. EVA remains flexible at low temperatures.

The sample:

The sample material is used for easy-to-cut anti-slip mats in kitchen drawers, shelf covers in refrigerators, and as a protective layer on shoe racks.

You get a sheet measuring ~8 cm x ~8 cm.

All samples come with a laminated information card, which includes contact details for the supplier.

  • Can we get a fragrance emitting and antimicrobial EVA sheet?

We only supply the sample you see above. But you can get a plastic compounding company to produce plastics to your specifications with many different additives including fragrances and antimicrobial additives.
