Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI) - Protects nearby metals in enclosed spaces from corrosion

€12.00

Volatile corrosion inhibitors (VCI) diffuse as a vapour from a source (e.g. a plastic bag, film, foam, or paper) and chemically binds to nearby metal surfaces, where they form a thin protective film that inhibits the electro-chemical reactions which cause corrosion. The metal to be protected must be in an enclosed space (e.g. a bag or box) with the VCI-releasing product, where it will remain protected for years, as long as the enclosure is not opened for longer periods. The protective VCI film on the metal is just a few molecules thick and evaporates quickly when the metal is removed from the protected environment.

Used for:
VCI products are used to protect components, tools, and spare parts during shipping and storage. The protective VCI film does not adversely affect electronic components, and VCI products can therefore be used to avoid corrosion inside electrical enclosures and cabinets.

Details:
The VCI film on the metal is invisible, odorless, non-toxic, non-reactive, non-flammable, and non-allergenic.

Idea:
Create a bag that protects outdoor grills during the winter.

The sample:
You get a VCI bag with VCI plastic film, VCI paper, and VCI foam - see the photo.

All samples come with a laminated information card, which includes contact details for the supplier.
