Fluoroelastomer (FKM) - High-performance elastomer with good chemical resistance

€10.00

This thermoset rubber-like elastomer has strong carbon-fluorine bonds that give it excellent resistance to many aggressive chemicals – including oils, fuels, and lubricants. The polymer can withstand temperatures up to around 200°C for prolonged periods and intermittent exposures up to 316°C. It also has very good resistance to sunlight and atmospheric oxidation.

Used for:

It is used for O-rings, seals, and fuel hoses in aggressive-chemical and high-heat environments – such as those found in the automotive, aerospace, and oil and gas industries. Moulded components are used in dry-cleaning machines, chemical process equipment, and laboratory instruments.

Details:

Several grades of fluoroelastomer are available with different properties depending on the composition, fluorine content, and curing chemistry.

Idea:

Create a collapsible bag for fuel for vehicles that can be used in emergency situations.

The sample:

The sample measures 80 x 80 mm and has a thickness of 1 mm.

All samples come with a laminated information card, which includes contact details for the supplier.
