Coded Magnets - Magnets with surprising behaviours

€12.00

Magnets are magnetised using a new method that allows small segments of the magnet to be magnetised individually (aka coded). It is possible to control the position, size, polarity (north or south), and field strength of each segment. The coding of the segments allows complex magnetic fields to be created, which result in novel magnetic behaviours not seen with conventionally magnetised magnets.

Used for:
The technology enables new developments in valves, motors, power generators, and magnetic separators.

Details:
The individual segments are coded with a proprietary probe called a “magnetic printer”. Rare-earth, ferrite, and flexible magnetic materials can be coded. Different behaviours are available and new patterns (and thereby behaviours) can be developed for special applications.

Idea:
Use the technology to save expensive magnetic materials.

The sample:
The sample has a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 1,6 mm. It has the MaxField® pattern, which offers a higher holding force and a shorter engagement distance compared with standard magnets. You get a piece of magnetic field viewing film with the sample that you can use to see the magnetised segments.

All samples come with a laminated information card, which includes contact details for the supplier.
